The name of this Corporation is Kavkaz Cultural Center of California.
The organization was found on August 20, 1960, under the name "Caucasian Unity of California", as a non-Profit cultural California Corporation.
On July 10, 1972, the name was changed by amendment to the "Kavkaz Cultural Center of California."
The Corporation is ruled by it's By-Laws and Articles of incorporation, adopted by the members.
California State Corporate Division Upon legel review during 1978-79 recognized Kavkaz Cultural Center of Clifornia (KCC) as a "Mutual Benefit Corporation". Non-Profit Corporations fall into three categories, the other two being: "Non-profit Public Benefit Corporation" and "Non-Profit Religious Corporation".
The purposes of the Kavkaz Cultural Center of California as defined by the AMENDED BY-LAWS of 2006 shall be:
- To promote all matters pertaining to the welfare of the Circassians in the religious, cultural, intellectual, athletic and benevolent field; based on the practical manifestation and application of the humanitarian values inspired by the Islamic faith and related truths of the Holy Qur'an.
- To strengthen the cooperative ties among the Circassians world-wide to preserve and nurture the Circassian language, culture and heritage.
